2025 Youth Tour Applications are Now Open
Do you know a high school junior passionate about history, leadership, and adventure? Wake Electric is excited to announce that applications for the 2025 Youth Tour to Washington, D.C. are now open as of October 1! This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity allows students from across North Carolina to explore our nation’s capital, connect with peers, and build lasting relationships while experiencing Washington like never before.
Hedwiga Brutskiy, one of Wake Electric’s 2024 Youth Tour participants shared, “Initially, the scholarship and all-expense-paid trip to D.C. captured my attention, but it was the strong community values of Wake Electric and the chance to meet new people from across the state that really made me excited. The tour gave me a sense of belonging and introduced me to lasting friendships. Even now, we still keep in touch, sharing tips for scholarships and college applications!”
As a Youth Tour delegate, they’ll visit iconic landmarks like the Capitol, Arlington National Cemetery, and the Smithsonian Museums. They will also have the chance to meet elected officials, learn about the legislative process, and explore potential career paths. This unique behind-the-scenes experience offers insight into how our nation’s leaders keep America moving forward.
Beyond the adventure, the Youth Tour comes with exclusive scholarship opportunities to help ease the financial burden of higher education. Whether they’re interested in politics, history, or just an exciting journey with new friends, the Youth Tour is a memorable experience that provides personal and professional growth.
“I highly recommend applying,” Brutskiy shared. “Not only do you explore historical landmarks, but you also meet like-minded peers and build relationships that enhance your future. Plus, the opportunity to interact with leaders and access scholarships is truly priceless.”
