using—so you can spot spikes early, make small adjustments, and keep your bill on track.

Custom thresholds

Decide what “high usage” means for your home. Set hourly or daily limits that
match your routine and help you stay on track.

Avoid surprises

Usage Alerts help identify unusual changes in your electric use. While some increases are normal—like hot weather or houseguests—others may signal an issue with major appliances or systems in your home.

Alerts your way

Receive notifications by text, emails, or both. These convenient notifications help you take full control of your energy use.

Get started with Usage Alerts

Access SmartHub

Login to your SmartHub account.

Don’t have an account?

Access the SmartHub portal and click “Don’t have an account? Register now.” to get started.
Enter your Wake Electric Account information and contact details to create your SmartHub account.

  • You’ll need your Wake Electric Account Number, found at the top of your utility bill

Enable Usage Alerts
  • Go to Settings → Manage Notifications → Usage Alerts

  • Click Add New Alert

  • Select the account and meter(s) you want alerts for

  • Choose how you want to receive alerts (email and/or text)

  • Click Save

Tip: Review Usage Breakdown

Reviewing your hourly/daily usage beforehand will help you decide on where to set your usage alert thresholds.

From the SmartHub homepage, click Usage, then select your account.
Choose a usage view to explore your energy use.

  • Tap a bar on the chart to see an hourly breakdown for that day

  • Use the usage scale along the side to help set your Usage Alert thresholds
