Do you know a high schooler or an active college student pursuing higher education? The cooperative’s college scholarships are now open for 2026. Wake Electric is proud to support the next generation of leaders by awarding $22,000 in scholarships to local high school seniors and college students each year. Funding for these scholarships is made possible by the generosity of Wake Electric members and employees through the WE Care Foundation.
Fred M. Alford Memorial Scholarship ($2,000 each)
- Must be the child or under the legal guardianship of an active Wake Electric member, or live in a home served by Wake Electric.
- Open to high school graduating seniors only.
- Applicants must plan to pursue a four-year undergraduate degree at an accredited institution in North Carolina.
Wake Electric Scholarships ($1,250 each)
Must be the child or under the legal guardianship of an active Wake Electric member, or live in a home served by Wake Electric.
- Can be used at a North Carolina college, university, community college, or technical/vocational school.
- Open to high school graduating seniors and students already enrolled full-time at an eligible institution.
