Two local middle school students took their game to the next level this summer through Wake Electric’s Cooperative All-Stars Sports Camp scholarships. The scholarships covered each student’s all-expenses-paid overnight basketball camp experience at N.C. State University and UNC-Chapel Hill.

Avri Wills, a rising sixth grader from Nash County, attended the Wolfpack Women’s Basketball Camp at N.C. State University June 14-17. Braylen Brown, also a rising sixth grader from Nash County, attended the Carolina Basketball School at UNC-Chapel Hill June 27-30. The overnight camps gave both students the opportunity to improve their basketball skills, experience life on a college campus and build confidence, teamwork and leadership while learning from Division I coaches.
