Wake Electric’s mission to provide affordable, reliable energy goes beyond delivering power—we’re here to help you make the most of it. One way we’re doing that is by connecting members with programs like North Carolina’s new Energy Saver NC initiative, now available across all seven counties we serve.

Designed for income-eligible homeowners and renters, Energy Saver NC offers rebates that make it easier to upgrade your home, use less energy, and reduce your monthly bill. By improving your home’s efficiency, you can stay more comfortable while keeping energy costs in check—especially as we head into high-usage summer months.

Energy Saver NC includes two rebate programs:

HOMES (Homeowners Managing Efficiency Savings)

Rewards whole-home energy savings through upgrades like insulation, air sealing, and heating and cooling improvements. The more energy you save, the higher your potential rebate.

HEAR (Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates)

Helps cover the cost of replacing older equipment with high-efficiency electric options, such as heat pump HVAC systems, heat pump water heaters, electric cooktops, and electrical panel upgrades.

Depending on eligibility, households may qualify for up to $16,000 in rebates for efficiency improvements and up to $14,000 for high-efficiency electric appliances—making these upgrades more accessible than ever.

While Wake Electric does not administer this program, we’re committed to helping members find opportunities like Energy Saver NC to better manage energy use and costs. Taking steps now can help you prepare for increased summer demand—and set you up for savings and comfort all year long.
