Wake Electric Welcomes Newest Board Member Daniel Keel
Nov. 28, 2022 – Wake Electric’s board of directors has appointed Daniel Keel to fill the district 7 seat which was vacated by longtime board member Rodney Privette who passed away this past August. Keel holds a degree in civil engineering from UNC-Charlotte and worked at the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) for 30 years. At present, he works as an engineering consultant for Kissinger Campo and Associates.
Keel currently lives in the Louisburg area and has been a Wake Electric member for more than 15 years. He stays active in the community including youth sports, school activities and church-related activities. In years past, Keel has been appointed by the board to serve on the co-op’s nominating committee.
As a not-for-profit electric utility, Wake Electric is governed by a nine member board of directors, who are elected by co-op members every March. “Cooperatives are member-owned and democratically controlled. Our members’ interests are represented by our board members, and we strongly believe we’ve found a dedicated board member in Daniel Keel,” said Jim Mangum, general manager and CEO of Wake Electric. “We are excited to welcome him to our co-op family and look forward to his contributions.” Keel’s first Board meeting will be in January.
