Beginning January 2017, Wake Electric will implement an increase of the N.C. Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Portfolio Standard (REPS) charge from $1.00 to $2.00. This amount – called the NC REPS Compliance Charge – appears on Wake Electric members’ bills every month.  The charge occurs in order to meet the requirements of the state’s legislation requiring electric co-ops meet up to 10 percent of their energy sales through renewable energy sources or energy efficiency measures by 2018.  For more information on rates, visit www.wemc.com or call customer service at 919.863.6300 or 800.474.6300.
