Hurricane Matthew has taken out a major transmission line owned by Duke Power. That transmission line feeds into Wake Electric’s Royal and Louisburg substations, causing outages to 1,600 of Wake Electric’s members. According to Duke Power it will be late Sunday night before the transmission line will be energized. Crews are working to restore power as soon as possible. The easiest and most efficient way to report an outage is through our SmartHub App available for Android and iOS phones and tablets.
You can monitor any outages in real time at www.wemc.com – click on the outage map or “View Outages.”
In order to find out the cause of the outage on the outage map, scroll over the circle of outages (each county is represented by a different color) you are reviewing. A small pop-up includes information such as number out in that area and cause.
