Wake Forest, NC— An automobile accident brought down a utility pole on Highway 98 at 2:30 a.m. This accident caused approximately 382 power outages in Durham and Wake counties, predominantly in Hunter Hills and Black Horse Run neighborhoods.
Due to the investigations surrounding the accident and because the scene of the accident had to be secured by police officials, power restoration efforts were delayed. Also, Highway 98 was closed in both directions for about four hours as police crews worked to clean up the wreck.
At approximately 5:45 a.m., all but 48 members had power restored. By 9:40 a.m., everyone was back up and running.
Members can always refer to Wake Electric’s outage map (located atwww.wemc.com/outageMapInformation.aspx) to see where power outages are located.
Thank you for your patience in this matter.
