Wake Electric’s SmartHub users can access their cooperative through their smart home device and perform several functions including retrieving your bill balance, checking on outages, getting timely news alerts from Wake Electric and paying a bill through a stored payment option. It’s just one of the many ways Wake Electric is using technology to improve your experience and make it easier to do business with us.

Getting started is easy!

  1. Set a default Voice Assistant payment method via your SmartHub account. Go to My Profile > My Information > Manage My Stored Payment Accounts page.
  2. Connect SmartHub with your Amazon Alexa or Google Home app. Learn how to set up your device.
  3. Use one of the many voice assistant commands to talk to your Alexa or Google Home.

How to Set up Your Device

In order to setup your smart home device, you’ll need to first download either the Alexa or Google Assistant app and log in to your account.

Alexa Setup

Open Alexa App > Select Skills & Games from the menu > Search for “SmartHub” and enable the “SmartHub” Skill > Select Wake Electric from drop down > You will be directed to SmartHub Login page – use SmartHub Username/password. We currently support a single account.

Google Assistant Setup

Open the Google Assistant on your phone > Select the Compass icon in the bottom right to open the Action Directory > Search for the SmartHub action and select the device you wish to enable > Search for Wake Electric in the list of service providers > You will be directed to SmartHub Login page – use SmartHub Username/password. We currently support a single account.
