In Memory of Director Rodney Privette
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the loss of Wake Electric Board Member Rodney Privette who passed away Aug. 17 in his home.
Privette has served on the Wake Electric board of directors since March 2016, but Wake Electric was just one of the many ways he served our community.
“Rodney loved his family and his community and would do anything for either one of them,” said Jim Mangum, general manager and CEO of Wake Electric. “Fire chief, insurance, the bank, the co-op, the chamber, the list of people and organizations he helped goes on and on. We’re going to miss him dearly.”
A Rolesville native, Privette’s community ties ran deep. He began volunteering with the Rolesville Rural Fire Department in 1975 and has served as its chief since 1992. He also served on the Wake County Fire Commission, helped form the Rolesville Chamber of Commerce, served on the board of the Wake Forest Federal Savings & Loan and co-owned Privette Insurance Agency with his sister.
“More than just his service to his community, Rodney never met a stranger,” said Suzy Morgan, Wake Electric board president. “He always had a smile on his face and time to talk with you. He will be remembered by many. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and loved ones.”
