Wake Electric recently granted a $225,000 economic development loan to the Creedmoor Volunteer Fire Department.  The funds will be used to assist in the purchase of a Spartan EVR Star Series Pumper Fire Truck.

The co-op has offered  the U.S.D.A. economic development funds to the fire department with no interest charges.  Wake Electric Directors who attended the closing (Allen Nelson of Stovall, Mike Dickerson of Oxford and Joe Hilburn of Durham) explained that Wake Electric is offering the interest-free loan as a way to give back and to the community and assist the fire department in enhancing its valuable services to the community of 12,500 people it serves.

Chief Jimmy Minor and Board Secretary Carl Norgaard expressed their appreciation to Wake Electric on behalf of the Fire Department and the local citizens.
