Severe storms hit Wake Electric’s service area around 6 p.m. Thursday evening. The majority of the 800 outages were in Franklin and Wake counties. Strong winds blew down large trees and power lines—even blew a small building into a power pole and broke the pole. This left nearly 200 consumers without power for nearly 12 hours.
