Power Outage: 6/17-6/18

3:00 p.m. – Line crews have been working tirelessly to repair damage caused by last nights storm and we now have only 144 meters without power.
9:00 a.m. – Line crews have been working around the clock to continue restoring power following last evening’s storm. We have around 500 meters out at this time and we continue to make good progress this morning as additional crews from Carteret-Craven and Brunswick EMC have joined Wake Electric to assist with the remaining outages.
10:30 p.m. – We made good progress in restoring power to several areas this evening and we have around 1,400 members without power. We are still working to repair broken poles, several cutouts and downed power lines with large trees laying across them. Repairs will continue through tomorrow until everyone’s power is restored. We apologize for the inconvenience and we thank you for your patience and understanding.
6:00 p.m. – Due to this evening’s summer storm, Wake Electric is currently experiencing widespread outages throughout our service territory. Crews have been dispatched and will work around the clock to restore power. If you are currently experiencing an outage, please report it through SmartHub, text (if you’re registered) or by calling 800.743.3155. We will keep you updated on our restoration progress here, but you can also keep track of restoration progress through our outage map.
